Moms shape us in quiet, lasting ways. It’s in the way they speak, the lessons they teach, and sometimes in the little things they leave behind. This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating those everyday influences: the style, the wisdom, and the pieces we carry with us long after we’ve left home.

We sat down with Cass and her mom, Fran, to talk about style, lessons, and the pieces that stay with us.

Q: What’s one fashion lesson you’ve learned from each other?

Mom: My daughter has shown me the power of personal style and how it can really change your mood and how you present yourself for the day. She’s taught me the importance of accessories and how much they compliment and complete an outfit. It makes me so proud to see how she’s turned her love for fashion and style into a career.

Cass: My mom has always loved bold, luxury accessories, but she keeps her everyday clothing pretty simple. She’s all about elevating outfits with high-quality pieces, like designer handbags and sunglasses. Her approach truly inspired the way I think about my own style, and it’s the same advice I give to others. It only takes one great accessory to completely transform a look.

What are the lessons you’ve both learned from each other?

Mom: Valuable lessons I have learned is to be brave and visualize, you must see and feel yourself achieving your goals. Don’t be afraid to take chances! Cassandra  encourages me to be happy and to stop worrying so much and to take care of me for once. 

Cass: The main lesson I’ve learned from my mom is how to be selfless. She always puts everyone else before herself and is incredibly caring. As I think about starting a family of my own, I admire that quality in her now more than ever. She always knows exactly what to say and has shown me how powerful words of affirmation and encouragement can be. I owe all of my confidence to her always believing in me.
